Ubud adventure: quad, rafting or swing?

Quick answer
Choose rafting for teamwork and scenery, a quad for a muddier motorised ride, and a swing mainly for the photograph. If you want two substantial activities and have a full day, the quad-and-rafting combination is the clearest value; if you dislike long changeovers, book only one.
Rafting: the active landscape choice
Ayung rafting puts the river and gorge at the centre. River conditions change, so ask the operator about difficulty, access to the water and current conditions.
Quad: driving rather than sightseeing
The quad route on this tour runs through jungle, rice paddies and the Gorilla Face Cave. The appeal is controlling the vehicle and getting wet or muddy, not reaching a famous landmark. Check whether you ride solo or tandem, what transfer is included and what happens in heavy rain.
Swing: short and camera-led
A swing is the least demanding option and easiest to add to another Ubud day. It is also the most staged. Choose it when you want the elevated view and photograph; do not expect the sustained activity of rafting or a quad route.
Is the combination worth it?
The quad and Ayung rafting trip with a meal lists 2.5 hours of rafting and 1.5 hours on the quad route, with transfer options. That is a genuine activity day, but changing, transport and lunch make it longer than the four hours of activity.
Before paying, check minimum age, weight or health restrictions, insurance, footwear, lockers and cancellation terms on the booking page. These rules differ by operator, so a general Bali-wide promise would be misleading.
